Buenos dias, everybody! I hope that everyone had a good week. I hope that my beautiful, little sister, Brynney had a good birthday. I'm so thankful that I have her sweet example in my life. I love and miss you, Brynney!
So, this week we had another temblor. We had a mini zone training in Buenos Aires and we were chilling there and in the middle of it, we heard this loud noise. It sounded like a bunch of big trucks or something like that and we could feel the benches vibrating. All of a sudden, the Stake Center just started shaking like crazy! Ha ha, it was so sketchy!
As for the work this week, we had a pretty solid week. We found a new family that we are working with that I feel really good about. We taught them the restoration and the lesson was so powerful. The spirit was so strong. I know that in lessons the spirit takes over and we are instruments in the hands of the Lord. It is an awesome experience to be able to testify of the truthfulness of this gospel. We had a lesson with Lucy this week and it was pretty good. While we were there, some dude came to fix Valentina's oxygen tank. While he was fixing it, she came and sat by me on the couch and was coloring and cuddled up to me. She is the cutest little girl. She is such an example to so many people for what she is going through. She is going to Lima today to see when she can get a lung transplant. It will be a good opportunity for Lucy to exercise her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
On Saturday, we had a multi zone service project. I got to see Elder Salazar and all of my other bros. It was a good time. We cleaned up garbage off of the beach in Chimbote. It was gross but it was a good experience to serve the community. While we were there, we saw llamas. It was the first time I have seen one since I've been in Peru. I got to ride it, ha ha, it was sick! After that, our zone busted out the haka hahaha. There's nothing like a bunch of tiny white dudes and latinos doing the haka, but it was sick!
That was my week! I'm so thankful to be a missionary. I love it with all of my heart. I'm humbled that I get to represent my Savior everyday. I know that this church is true. I know the Book of Mormon changes lives. I'm so happy to be here doing everything that I can to invite others to come to Zion. I love you guys and miss you so much! Have a good week!!

Where is Your Faith?
Good morning, everybody! I'm so happy and thankful for the opportunity I have to hear from all of you today. I hope that everything is tranquilito in the 435 and in the missions of all of my best friends. First off, I want to give a shout out to Elder Weese for serving an honorable mission. I'm thankful for the example he has always set for me. I know he represented our Savior, his family and his friends throughout his service and gave everything that he had. You're the man, Benny Weese!
Anyways, this week was really good. On Tuesday, Elder Choque had a training in Trujillo so I was with the zone leaders, Elder Benitez, Elder Henao and Elder Stroud whose companion also went to Trujillo. They are studs. It was so fun chilling with them. They are some of my best friends here on the mission! We went on exchanges and I was with Elder Benitez and learned so much. He's a G!
As for Lucy, she has absolutely everything to be baptized....except for a testimony. She still hasn't been able to say with a surety that this church is true. We are going to be working with her all week to help her but we need to be patient. We know that the Lord is aware of her and that the time will come where she can say that this church is true with 100 percent surety. I'm not worried about anything, I know she will be baptized.
So, yesterday, in Sacrament meeting, someone gave a talk that I thought was really good and I feel that I should share it with you guys. He was talking about faith and asked where our faith is at. He said do we have faith or do we have faith in Jesus Christ. Do we have faith that He suffered for everything we will ever go through? Do we have faith that He knows us perfectly? There's a scripture that made me think of in 1 Nephi 10:17 and it's Lehi talking about the things he saw in a vision and he said something about how he was able to receive that vision by the power of the Holy Ghost BY FAITH ON THE SON OF GOD! I testify that as we have faith in Jesus Christ and not just faith, we will see miracles and we will have a new outlook on the power of God. I invite you all to think about where your faith is and to put all of your faith in the Son of God!
I love you guys and hope that you all have a good week!

Sunflower Seeds and Hi Chews Never Tasted Better in My Life!
Mi familia y mis amigasos! I hope that everyone is doing good and had a good week. it's always so good to hear from all of you! I had a pretty good week. Time is absolutely hauling, I feel like I'm writing home every other day! This week was awesome. We have been working really hard and seeing results in our area. Lucy has a baptismal date for the 23 of July so pray for her that she can keep progressing and that everything will go through. We have been working with her ever since I got here in Chimbote and I know that she is prepared.
This week we saw a lot of blessings. We have been working really hard and there is a different spirit in this area. There has been a stronger spirit in lessons and investigadores have been following up on their commitments which is crucial in gaining a personal testimony. We have been praying really hard for success here in this area and I know the Lord is blessing us an doing his part after we do all that we can.
Something I have been thinking a lot about this week is something one of my best friends, Elder Benny Weese (soon to be BROTHER Weese) told me last week...and that is "your vision of your area will be the result of it". I was thankful for that advice. I was thinking that we can apply that in every aspect of our lives. If we're like Nephi having great desires to know the mysteries of God, and having a vision and being faithful that we can know them, that will be the result of it. When we have a vision of what we want, it motivates us to work for it and that's all the Lord requires. As we work for things and keep the commandments, He has promised to bless us.
I can't even put into words how thankful I am to be a missionary. I'm so thankful to be out here grindin' alongside all of my best friends. I testify that this is the work of the Lord. I know with all of my heart that our Father in Heaven knows all of us individually and He has prepared a way for us to return to Him. I invite all of you to know the mysteries of God, to have a different vision and I testify as you do, you will be happier. You will stand on solid ground and will be able to withstand the whisperings of Satan in this crazy world we live in.
I love you guys and I pray that you have a good week. Oh, by the way, I got the package you sent! Thank you so much, sunflower seeds and Hi Chews never tasted better in my life! It was good to have a little taste of America! I love and miss you guys so much! Cuidense mucho!! Hasta el proximo lunes!!

I'm Gonna Be Reppin' the Red, White and Blue
Buenos dias mis AMIGASOS! I hope that everyone had a good week and that everyone is takin it easy in THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE! I hope that you guys have a good-safe day. You already know I'm gonna be reppin' the Red, White and Blue today. The other day I got my hands on some Root Beer and Mountain Dew so we're gonna go ham with the good stuff today! Finally! I have become so patriotic after being here. I'm so thankful for my country and the blessings and opportunities that are there. We are so blessed to have what we have and to live where we live.
I had a pretty good week this week. I learned a lot. We have been working hard and have had some pretty solid lessons. Our investigator Hermana Lucy, came to church yesterday! That is the first time one of our investigators has come to church. The work here in this area and ward is really hard, so I was SO happy to see her. It was testimony meeting and she was crying during it. The Spirit was so strong. I seriously was so happy!
We also have a less active that we started working with named Julio Torres. He was born in the covenant but his wife is BIEN CATOLICA so that is kind of a problema, but our first visit we invited them to read 2 Nephi 11 and yesterday he came to church for the first time in years. Again, for the first time, one of our investigators followed up on their commitments. They read the chapter together and they were both really interested about how Christ was baptized by immersion. After we talked about that, his wife went on to tell us that after we came and visited her, there was a peace and spirit that hasn't been in their house before.
That was a huge testimony builder to me. I know that this is the work of the Lord. I know that by the power of the spirit we can know the truth of all things. I'm so thankful I can say with a 100% surety that this church is true. Our Father in Heaven has provided a way for us to know the truth and to have that peace and tranquilidad that everyone in this life is searching for, but it's up to us to act. That's what I love about this gospel....is it requires action and when we do our part, God has promised to do His. It's as simple as that.
I testify of the truthfulness of this gospel. I'm so thankful for the opportunity I have to suit up for the Lord every single day. I'm so blessed. Anyways, I hope you guys have a good, safe week. I love and miss you all so much and pray for you every single day. CUIDENSE MUCHO!
